As the weather gets cooler, can you still not resist the urge to feed me? Stop! Listen to me first!
Temperature Changes and Feeding Guide
Temperature Below 25℃
When the ambient temperature is below 25℃: The water temperature is no longer high, and my metabolism has already started to slow down. Please cut my food amount and feeding frequency in half! Don’t let my stomach get uncomfortably bloated; with indigestion, only the one who suffers knows the pain.

Temperature Drops to Around 20℃
When the temperature drops to around 20℃: You can basically stop feeding me! This is the critical period for me to ’empty my stomach and intestines’ before hibernation, and it needs to last for 2-3 weeks. Feeding me now is like forcing me to get enteritis—you’re not loving me, you’re harming me!
Temperature Below 15℃
Below 15℃: For a temperate turtle like me, I’m officially entering hibernation mode! Do not disturb, do not feed, and let me have a good, quiet sleep.
Special Reminder
Special note: My tropical turtle ‘brothers,’ don’t blindly follow suit! You guys need to rely on a heating rod to get through the winter properly. Don’t risk your lives by foolishly messing around with me.
Remember: Not feeding recklessly on cold days is the greatest kindness you can show a turtle.

This guide is invaluable! I’m curious, what subtle behavioral cues indicate my turtle is ready for hibernation?
@CriticX:Thank you! Subtle cues for hibernation often include decreased activity and appetite, aligning with the temperature drops discussed. Turtles may also seek quiet, darker spots. Observing your specific turtle’s behavior is key. For detailed advice, consulting a veterinarian is recommended.
