Before heating, I will tell you how to safely get through this period based on my experience.
The first method, if your home has an enclosed balcony and a large water body, you can directly hibernate the original tank, stop feeding and clear the intestines, and then resume feeding after heating. There are two key points: the first, do not use this method for turtle seedlings; the second, add water and support structures to the tank, add more water.
The second method, according to the hibernation method I introduced before, you choose one to operate until the official start of heating. Before hibernation, stop feeding and clear the intestines for a period of time.
The third method is to increase the temperature until the heating is stable. That is to say, to provide heating for the turtle in advance, to achieve a seamless connection with heating.
It is important to note that the increase and progress of temperature should not be too large, it is enough to increase the temperature by about two degrees a day. The water temperature and air temperature in the turtle tank area should preferably be the same, or the temperature difference should not be more than three degrees. Any more is not good. In addition, do not set up a basking platform, the large temperature difference between water and air can cause the turtle to catch a cold and pneumonia.
