Turtles, these long-lived and mysterious creatures, have a life cycle full of change and development. From hatchlings to adult turtles, each stage shows unique growth characteristics and needs.

Hatchling Stage

Hatchlings, the starting point of life, just hatched from the egg, weighing 3 to 13 grams, with a carapace 4 to 5 cm long, are extremely sensitive to the environment. The incubation period is affected by species and air temperature, which can be as long as 30 to 90 days, and temperature also determines the hatchling’s sex. Adult Turtle Stage

Finally, sub-adult turtles grow into adult turtles. Adult turtles have a stable body size, strong resistance, steady behavior, and move slowly but powerfully. Keepers need to keep the water quality clean and provide suitable food and environmental temperature; although adult turtles can endure hunger, regular feeding is still needed to guarantee health.
