As I’ve said many, many times about dwarf cats, it’s really not recommended for newbies. While dwarf cats don’t have genetic defects in their genes like folding cats, these are a few things to consider.
First, the degree of bone aging is fast. According to the cases of hospital visits, dwarf cats are more likely to suffer from skeletal arthritis and complications than other breeds.
The second is that its chest cavity will be narrower, strenuous exercise is easy to trigger heart problems, but if long-term non-exercise and overweight, it will also aggravate the burden on its chest cavity.
Third, it should not be allowed to be climbing stairs and jumping frequently. Regular cats can easily jump from high places, but for a short-footed cat it could mean a possible broken bone.
Fourthly, it is also more troublesome to take care of it in daily life, because of the low chassis, the butt is easy to get feces on it, and the owner needs to spend time to clean it.
